Last Week in May

I cannot believe that it is June already!  The time flies.  I wanted to post the final days of May and what we did.

But first, I wanted to post a picture Michael sent me.  He is so sentimental and keeps as much stuff as he can as long as there is a memory to it.  He is a picture taker and keeper.  In fact, we had his aptitude testing done in Texas and one of his gifts is photography.   Anyway, he and Robert are spending the summer working and living with very close family friends.  Michael and Deb (the mom) were looking at old pictures and Michael took pictures of some of them.  Here is one of Michael, Robert, and David (best friends from kindergarten) that is sooooo cute!

Now, last week.  Wednesday after bible study the ladies from our church gave our youth leader a bridal shower.  Amanda is from SC and is marrying a Chilean.  She just left for the summer to prepare for a fall wedding and then she will come back and live in Chile.  We had lots of fun and she got some great gifts.

Saturday, the youth had an end of the year party.  The international school here follows an American calendar since most of the students are expats and move around to different countries.  So even though it’ s fall/winter here and the other schools are in session this school is out for the “summer”.

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of our church.  The service shared the history of our church and all the people that have come and gone.  There were 5 people there that were at the first service that day 20 years ago.  We found out that every 2 years one third of our congregation moves on to another country.  Still, the church keeps going and is vibrant.  The people are so welcoming and make you feel like family when you come.  After the service we had a potluck meal and we all enjoyed each other’s company.  The weather was beautiful and it ended up being wonderful day.
